Where Retired Anchormen Go
Charles Gibson retired from ABC News in 2009, but he hasn’t retired from the interviewing and in-front-of-the-camera work he’d done for almost 40 years, he’s just doing it now for a sponsor. And he’s talking about … retirement.
While Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather are still in the news biz, for NBC and HDNet, respectively, Gibson has been moderating the help2retire webcast series for Merrill Lynch. Here’s the most recent one.
On his final broadcast on Dec. 18, 2009, Gibson said, “There is so much to do in the years I have left, I don’t want to miss any of it.”
