Who Will Sit Next To Matt This Summer?

Katie Couric has two more days of ‘Today.’ “What might be lost in all of this hubbub is who will be sitting next to Matt Lauer this summer,” an MSNBC message board user says. “Although it was announced last month that Meredith Viera would be the new co-host of the top-rated morning news program, she won’t assume the chair until September, so that leaves three months of uncertainty.

Anyone have any guesses who will get this summertime gig?” Ann Curry, Campbell Brown and Natalie Morales are expected to fill in, but I wonder how the assignments are being determined…

> Update: 8:42am: “They will sit in a temporary studio across the street from Studio 1A,” an e-mailer notes. “NBC is setting up their Olympic Studio to use while 1A gets renovated this summer. Lester & Campbell mentioned it and showed the construction of the temporary studio at the end of Sunday Today.”
