With Deal Nearly Done, Is Debate Still On?

DoddCNBC_9.25.jpgLess than 24 hours ago, John McCain suspended his campaign and suggested the first of three presidential debates set for tomorrow night be delayed. Well, now that Congressional democrats and republicans have “reached a fundamental agreement on a set of principles,” according to Sen. Chris Dodd, the networks would surely like to know if the debate is still on.

FBN_9.25.jpgThe news of the deal first crossed on the business networks at 12:54pmET. FBN was first, followed a few seconds later by Bloomberg, Fox News Channel and CNBC. CNBC was first with the video of Sen. Dodd making the announcement at 1:00pmET.

We should know more about the debate after the 4pmET meeting at the White House which will be attended by both candidates McCain and Barack Obama.
