With Ratings Strong, Cuts Coming to CNBC
Coming off its best month ever in Total Viewers during business day (5am-7pmET), cuts are on the horizon for CNBC.
The New York Observer’s Felix Gillette writes about the decision. “Sources inside CNBC have heard that the figure could approach a 10 percent overall budget cut,” he writes.
Gillette quotes a TV insider who says, “It’s only logical that after cut after cut at NBC News and MSNBC that CNBC would eventually have to come to the table.”
• Earlier: NBC News expected to offer buyouts to “virtually everyone.”
