After 22 Years at KRON, Sports Anchor Vern Glenn Starts Work at Rival KPIX

Vern Glenn, who has spent the past 22 and a half years at KRON, is starting work at Bay Area rival KPIX this week.

Nicknamed “Mr. Involvement” because of his penchant for throwing himself into the middle of his feature stories, Glenn will serve as weekend sports anchor and reporter at KPIX, the same role he recently held at KRON.

KPIX, a CBS O&O, was able to give Glenn a three-year contract, which KRON was unable to offer.

After they wrapped up coverage of the U.S. Open, which took place in the Bay Area over the weekend, Glenn joined Gary Radnich, his longtime sports partner at KRON, for a send-off (video inside).
