After Misdemeanor Conviction and Three Weeks in Jail, Dominic Carter Returns to TV

Former NY1 political reporter Dominic Carter returns to New York television tonight after a two-year absence that included a very public domestic abuse trial and three weeks of jail time.

Carter, who worked for NY1 for 17 years, was convicted of  misdemeanor attempted assault against his wife, Marilyn, in 2009. After three weeks served in jail, NY1 — which criticized Carter’s integrity during the trial — did not renew his contract. An appeal of the conviction, which was filed by Carter this year, is pending.

Carter will appear on Richard French’s RNN show tonight and tomorrow night, FishbowlNY reports. The former political reporter will be part of a panel discussion.
