Amy Wagner Leaves WLWT

WLWT reporter Amy Wagner has announced she is leaving the NBC affiliate to become Development Director for Cincinnatti’s Susan G. Komen For the Cure. Wagner’s mother died of breast cancer last August.

“I’ll never forget the feeling of helplessness as I watched her go,” Wagner said. “This is my chance to fight back against what took her from us.”

Wagner, who will report her last story on Wednesday, has been at Cincinnatti’s WLWT since 2004. She has previously worked at WBKO in Bowling Green, KY, and WLKY in Louisville.

Wagner says her mother, Sue, wanted to make sure that her 5-year old granddaughter never faced breast cancer herself. “I can’t stand by and hope that happens,” she said. “I have to do something.”
