WGNO morning anchor Jocelyn Lockwood announced Monday that she is leaving the New Orleans ABC affiliate to spend a year traveling the world (video after the jump).

Lockwood, who called the trip a “lifelong dream,” will sign off at the end of the month.

“I’m very, very excited. For many years my husband and I have always talked about traveling the world — it’s one of those things that you talk about, you dream about, but you never expect to do,” Lockwood said. “But for us, we decided to go for it. Because why not?”
