Asiana Airlines Will Not Pursue KTVU Lawsuit

Asiana Airlines has decided not to pursue a lawsuit against KTVU, the San Francisco station that reported false and racially offensive names of the pilots of flight 214, Reuters reports.

“Asiana Airlines has decided not to proceed with the case since KTVU has issued a formal apology and in order for us to focus all our efforts on managing the aftermath of the accident,” the airline said in a statement.

KTVU has apologized for the fake pilot names, which included “Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Low” and “Ho Lee Fuk.” Asiana Airlines, which also considered legal action against the NTSB for its involvement in the incident, said a lawsuit would send a strong response to the “racially discriminatory report.”
