Brooks Garner Leaving WFLA for KHOU

Brooks Garner, meteorologist for Tampa NBC affiliate WFLA, will be moving to the Houston CBS affiliate KHOU.

Garner said on his facebook page, “I’m excited to announce that been invited to join the weather team at KHOU in Houston, starting in May! Thank you to all who’ve made my experience in Tampa Bay something I’ll always treasure. Your kind words and well wishes have truly been humbling.”

Before starting at WFLA in 2010, Garner was chief meteorologist at WIS in Columbia, SC. He started his on-air career at KMEG in Sioux City, IA and was a weather producer for WHDH in Boston.

KHOU said on its website Garner will do the weekday weather on the Noon and 4:00 p.m. news.
