According to SFGate, Nick Smith, a reporter for the San Francisco ABC owned station, chased the suspected thieves as they sped off in a green Jaguar.

While the crew was inside the store, thieves broke windows of the news van and the guard’s Chevrolet Cobalt parked across the street. No cameras or expensive gear was taken, just personal items including an iPhone.

This is the latest in a string of attacks on local media in Oakland. Last November, a cameraman for CBS owned station KPIX was beaten a robbed of his camera during a live shot.

According to police, the Telemundo vehicle was hit by a maroon GMC Envoy while traveling westbound along the Expressway 83 frontage road. The Envoy also hit two other vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Mission police Cpl. Manuel Casas told The Monitor, “We have a partial license plate (number) of ‘R34.”

Dietz was jailed on April 18 under Michigan’s “super drunk” law, which increases the consequences for people convicted of driving with a blood alcohol content of .17% or higher. Dietz, who has worked at the Detroit NBC affiliate since 1993, was arrested February 12.

“I made a mistake for which I apologize to my family, WDIV and to the viewers,” Dietz said in a statement posted to the WDIV website. “I accept full responsibility and am taking the necessary steps to deal with this matter.”

“Kevin has been forthright and accepted full responsibility and expressed remorse.  He is taking appropriate steps to deal this situation and we believe that Kevin will continue to be an important contributor to WDIV now and in the future,” WDIV vice president and general manager Marla Drutz said.

Houston police are investigating the death as a murder, according to Houston ABC O&O KTRK. There was no sign of forced entry at her apartment, where her grandmother found her Wednesday after she had not heard from Feagin for several days.

Feagain worked at WDSU in New Orleans before joining KRIV in 2009. After leaving the Fox O&O in 2011, she taught occasional classes at Sculpt Fitness in Houston. “She had a real bubbly personality, just always happy,” a colleague told KTRK.

Douglas was leaving the stations’ El Dorado newsroom Sunday when the suspect, Demetrian McElroy, “forced Douglas back into the Main Street newsroom, held her down and showed a knife,” according to KTVE-KARD.

McElroy ran off after two people heard Douglas’ screams and came to help. Douglas was able to identify McElroy on Tuesday. He is currently in jail on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Reporter Meghan Smith and photojournalist Walter Pendergrass were in Lehigh Acres covering a burglary when the incident occurred, WBBH reports:

Around 2 p.m., the crew saw a small blue car drive slowly by the driveway. Smith said she waved to both occupants of the car. The car then stopped and Mayo, the passenger, got out and came up to the vehicle Smith and Pendergrass were in. He pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at them.

Smith and Pendergrass saw the gun and tried to back out of the driveway. Mayo continued to approach the car, pointing the gun at them. They pointed to a press license plate in the vehicle and yelled to Mayo that they were with NBC2, but Mayo said he didn’t care, that no one was talking and that they should leave – all the while keeping the gun pointed at them.

He kept the gun pointed at them as they drove off. The crew was able to flag down a deputy and report the incident.

After Mayo’s arrest, a judge ordered him to surrender all firearms and have no contact with Smith or Pendergrass, according to WBBH. [h/t NewsBlues]

Henson, who is currently suspended from the Burlington CBS affiliate, is accused of groping a female college student in a bar without her consent on two occasions on March 15.

Henson was released on condition that he not contact the student and he not visit the Packing House Bar, the site of the original incident, according to the Burlington Free Press.

Even though Roberts tried to move on, they would not leave him alone, and suddenly, he was attacked from behind. “I never saw it coming,” he said.

When the first man attacked, Roberts said he turned around, grabbed him by the throat and pushed him up against a wall, telling him to not touch him before he let him go. Roberts then said he tried to walk away but that the men followed him and attacked again. “I decided that time I was going to fight back,” he said.

During the scuffle, Roberts had his press credentials stolen and his $5,000 camera and $1,000 microphone broken before police arrived. Roberts said he suffered a sprained back and minor cuts and abrasions, but did not require medical attention at the scene.

Sara Horowitz

According to police, Mathis filed a report alleging Horowitz punched and kicked him during an argument. The El Paso Times says the argument started after the two came back from a trip to Austin.

Mathis alleged Horowitz punched his right eye, breaking his glasses and causing a small scrape above the eye. Officers noted in their report Mathis also had “small scrapes and bruises” on his legs, some bruising behind his right ear and swelling on the right side of his upper lip. continued…

Daniel F. Dangler will serve three months in jail, followed by seven months of home confinement and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to pointing the laser at Chopper 3 HD.

The chopper for the CBS owned station captured video of the incident when it happened last July while flying over Northeast Philadelphia on a story. At the time, the FBI joined the Philadelphia police department in the search for the suspect, which turned out to be Dangler. You can see video of the incident after the jump.

Law was arrested in March and charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of gratification of lust. At the time of his arrest, WLBT suspended Law indefinitely; in newscasts reporting on his indictment Wednesday, the station referred to him as a “former” meteorologist.

Thomas Duroso of Overland, MO, has been charged with six counts of misdemeanor harassment for posting threatening messages on employees’ facebook pages as well as making obscene and threatening phone calls since November 2012, according to the St. Louis circuit attorney’s office. The Fort Wayne Journal Gazzette is reporting

The reporter for the Fort Wayne, IN, CBS affiliate pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. She had been charged with two misdemeanor counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in addition to speeding, which is an infraction.

Court officials told the Journal Gazzette Reust’s license has not been suspended.
