Hartford’s WTIC Partners With NESN For Red Sox, Bruins Coverage

NESN and WTIC, the Fox affiliate in Hartford, have announced a content-sharing partnership for coverage of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.

As part of the partnership, NESN’s analysts and announcers will do pre-grame reports for the Hartford station. WTIC sports director Rich Coppola will appear on NESN’s Red Sox pre-game shows, and the WTIC weather team — Joe Furey, Rachel Frank and Dan Amarante — will deliver the forecast for NESN’s pre- and post-game shows.

“This unique partnership allows two powerhouse organizations to come together to provide a unique experience for its audience,” WTIC general manager Richard J. Graziano said in a statement. “Delivering FOX CT award-winning sports and weather coverage to the strong and loyal Red Sox and Bruins fans in Connecticut is a win-win situation for everyone.”

WCMH Launches Content-Sharing Partnership With Columbus Business First

Columbus NBC affiliate WCMH has launched a content-sharing partnership with Columbus Business First.

Don DePerro, the publisher of Business First, will appear weekly on the station’s 6 a.m. newscast to discuss the week’s business news.

“NBC4 is excited to share content with Central Ohio’s best source for local and regional business news. We know it is important content that our viewers are interested in and this partnership will help us deliver it to them,” WCMH president and general manager Dan Bradley said in a statement.

WHTM Sharing Content with Local Paper

WHTM, the ABC affiliate for Harrisburg, PA, has announced a content sharing agreement with Carlisle, PA newspaper The Sentinel beginning today.

WHTM will be the newspaper’s sole weather provider in print and online. The Sentinel will help the TV station better cover the Harrisburg market.

“The Sentinel has reporters out there covering things we might miss. On the other hand, we cover Dauphin County, York, Franklin County and Lebanon County, so we’ll have things The Sentinel won’t (ordinarily have) and to put those together is pretty potent,” said WHTM president and general manager Joe Lewin. “There isn’t anything negative about this agreement that I can see. It’s hard to quantify how much of a benefit there is because there is no downside.”

WFSB Partnering with Local Newspaper

WFSB announced this week that it is teaming up with local newspaper the Norwich Bulletin in an effort to bring viewers more news coverage from eastern Connecticut.

“Working together, we will only strengthen our commitment to our viewers and the towns in that region,” WFSB vice president and general manager Klarn DePalma said. “Both of our staffs have a commitment to providing Norwich and neighboring communities with the best news, weather and sports coverage possible.”

The partnership, which will take effect sometime in March, will have WFSB and Bulletin staffers appearing on each other’s platforms. continued…
