Davenport’s KWQC Names General Sales Manager
John Mann will join KWQC, Davenport’s NBC affiliate, as the general sales manager.
“John has a consistent track record of helping stations turn in exceptional sales performances and I am excited to have him join us,” said KWQC vice president and general manager Ken Freedman. “He will be a major asset for KWQC and Young Broadcasting here in the Quad Cities, translating his wealth of experience to this dynamic market and building strong relationships throughout these communities.”
Mann, who has held a number of senior-level positions at stations around the country, joins KWQC from KPTM-KXVO in Omaha, NE.
Mann has been either local or general sales manager at WSVN in Miami, WJKS (now WCWJ) in Jacksonville and Harrisburg, PA’s WHTM. He has also been GM of WTVM Columbus, GA and Schurz Communications’ WAGT in Augusta, GA. Mann was later promoted to general manager of the Schurz flagship station, WSBT in South Bend, IN, and was appointed to the company’s board of directors as an adviser.
He starts his new job Monday.
