Death of WJBK GM Jeff Murri Ruled Suicide
The Oakland County medical examiner’s office ruled Saturday that the death of Jeff Murri, the general manager of WJBK in Detroit, was a suicide. Murri died last Thursday of a gunshot wound to the head at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Rochester Hills, MI.
Murri joined the Fox O&O in 1984 and was named general manager in 2001. In a statement last week, Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy called Murri “an exceptional leader, a compassionate friend, a devoted husband and a loving father.”
Murri’s funeral took place this morning at the same church where he died.
