Florida Bar Hits Casey Anthony Attorney with Complaint for Flipping Off Reporters
Casey Anthony defense attorney Cheney Mason is now facing a complaint from the Florida Bar for flipping off reporters following Tuesday’s not guilty verdict.
As the Anthony defense team celebrated the verdict at a restaurant in downtown Orlando Tuesday afternoon, Mason took a moment to wave his middle finger at the throng of reporters and photographers peering in through the restaurant’s windows.
In the complaint, reviewed by the Associated Press, Coral Gables attorney John B. Thompson said Mason violated Bar rules for “maintaining integrity of the profession.”
The complaint says that Mason’s gesture violates the Bar’s regulatory policy, which holds that actions by lawyers that reflect poorly on the profession are subject to discipline.
