Former Reporter Glenn Zimmerman Says His Time with WNBC Was “a Crazy Ride”
Veteran reporter Glenn Zimmerman departed WNBC when his contract expired at the end of 2010. Now he’s describing his time with the NBC flagship as “a crazy ride.”
“I got there and everything went boom… WNBC had a way of doing things and it did the same thing for a number of years, and it worked very well for a number of years,” Zimmerman told TVSpy sister site FishbowlNY. “In the period just before I arrived, it started not working for whatever reason.”
Zimmerman, who had previously worked for six years as a reporter for Detroit’s WXYZ, came to WNBC just as the station was beginning a massive overhaul of its operations.
“I watched as everything was literally ripped apart—both physically and figuratively—and then reassembled… in a different format… with a purpose,” Zimmerman tells FishbowlNY.
