hearst tv logo_304x200Hearst has promoted from within to head up the creative departments at two of its owned stations.

John Baldwin has been named creative services director for Baltimore NBC affiliate WBAL. He moves over from WGAL, the Hearst owned NBC station in Lancaster, PA.

“John has demonstrated a keen understanding of how to successfully steward a brand, especially in today’s multi-platform world,” WBAL president and GM Dan Joerres said in a statement.

Baldwin wasted no time in announcing Elizabeth Montijo has been promoted to fill his slot as creative services director at WGAL.

“Liz has been a key member of the WGAL team and she’ll do an outstanding job overseeing our creative services and promotion efforts,” said WGAL president and GM John Humphries. “She’s worked in some of the largest TV markets and brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Importantly, she’s a Pennsylvanian; after graduating from Temple University, she took her first job at Philadelphia’s WPHL-TV. She has a keen understanding of our community, and our state.”

Baldwin has worked in various roles at WGAL since 1985. He was named creative services director in 1995. Montijo has been the assistant creative services rector at WGAL since 2004.
