KSAX, the ABC affiliate in Alexandria, MN, was just 60 fans shy of 3,000 on Facebook at 9 a.m. yesterday. The news team, determined to hit the 3,000 mark by the end of the day, promised viewers watching the 5 p.m. newscast that if the goal was reached, the station would pony up the goods: video of KSAX meteorologist Mark Anthony being tased at City Park in Alexandria.
The station got its 3,000th “like” a few minutes later. As promised, the video (watch it here) was posted. Anthony — who volunteered for the tasing as part of a police demonstration — was unharmed.
