In Mobile, WALA Expanding Morning Newscasts
Mobile Fox-affiliate WALA will debut an early-morning newscast next week. Beginning August 27, the station’s morning newscast will begin at 4:30 a.m., an expansion of 30 minutes.
“This is such a natural ex tension of our existing morning news,” VP-GM Gary Yoder said in a statement. “Our viewers’ lives are busy and their mornings are busy. Starting our news day a half-hour earlier is a way to ensure they get the news, weather and traffic information they need … when they need it.”
Current morning anchors Sarah Wall and Eric Reynolds will rotate as anchor of the newscast, with weather reports provided by morning meteorologist Michael White.
