One Tim Deegan is a meteorologist for Jacksonville NBC and ABC affiliate WJXX-WTLV. The other is awaiting arraignment on charges of human trafficking after police say he kept three women trapped as sex slaves.
When CBS and FOX affiliate WTEV-WAWS reported the story about the Timothy Deegan in jail, it showed a picture of Tim Deegan the meteorologist. The picture was from the TV Deegan’s DUI in November 2013. You can see a screen grab of the wrong pic after the jump.
WTEV-WAWS news director Robert Longo told TVSpy the Inergize-CMS system (the people who manage the web content) chose the wrong picture. But added he personally apologized to the WJXX-WTLV GM and left a voice mail message with Tim Deegan. He said Inergize took full responsibility and updated the story with a correction.
Longo also tweeted out his apology.
Apologies to FCN’s Tim Deegan. Our CMS-Inergize-apparently mistakenly pulled your picture regarding another story & other Tim Deegan.
