Josh Benson Fired from WFOR

WFOR, the CBS-owned station in South Florida, has fired morning anchor Josh Benson.

“WFOR-TV has terminated the employment of Josh Benson for his operation of a personal website that streamed the station’s newscasts without the knowledge and consent of the station,” the station said in a statement.

Benson’s Twitter page and personal site are both down as of this writing. Before coming to WFOR last August, Benson was an evening anchor at WFTV in Orlando.

CBS, and other broadcasters are in a legal fight with Aereo, a service which takes the signals of local television stations are streams them on internet-connected devices.
