KARE Bids Farewell to Tom Lindner During 10 p.m. Newscast

KARE staff bid farewell yesterday to a man that has shaped the way the NBC-affiliate covers the news for nearly two decades. On Wednesday, station management announced that Tom Lindner, who has been with KARE for 19 years and served as VP of News for the last 15, would be leaving the station because “they wanted a change.”

Although the departure was not Lindner’s decision, the station is giving him a proper send-off.

KARE aired a four and a half minute segment during its 10 p.m. newscast last night, celebrating the contributions Lindner has made to the station while not covering up the truth of the situation.

“I’m moving on because I’ve been asked to move on,” Lindner says pointedly in the piece (video above).
