KDKA anchor Susan Koeppen, who is recovering from a “serious heart problem” suffered while jogging last week, will undergo heart surgery in the “near future,” she announced on Twitter.

Koeppen had a pre-existing heart valve condition, according to KDKA. She has not been at the anchor desk at the Pittsburgh CBS-affiliate since November 18.

On Twitter, Koeppen thanked viewers for their well-wishes, saying she is “alive and kicking.”
