KDVR Reporter, Photojournalist Alert Police After a Body is Found Near Live Shot Location

A KDVR crew reporting on a woman’s disappearance found a body in the bushes next to the missing woman’s home while preparing for a live shot over the weekend (video above).

KDVR reporter Deborah Takahara was preparing for her report on the 5 p.m. newscast when neighbors approached her and said they wanted to show her a person who may have been sleeping in the bushes near the home of the missing woman, according to the station.

Takahara and photojournalist Mike Abeyta went to the location and confirmed the woman was not breathing. They called 911, who arrived on the scene and put up crime scene tape around the bushes and the home. The police have not yet released the woman’s identity, according to the Denver Post.
