KGET Reporter Kelsey Thomas Shoved While Covering Story at Trailer Park

It what seems to be an increasingly common occurrence, a reporter and photojournalist from KGET in Bakersfield, CA were physically confronted while covering on a story.

Kelsey Thomas was at the ironically named Oasis Village trailer park this week to cover an ongoing dispute between residents, who are complaining about infrequent trash removal, and the park’s owner Babby Kurian.  Thomas confronted Kurian about the issue on Tuesday and he proceeded to shove Thomas and her photographer out of his office.

Thomas, who has been with KGET since last summer, is seen on video stumbling forward as Kurian angrily shoves her from behind (video above).

Kurian called the station that evening to apologize for his actions.
