KIRO’s Eric Lerner Named GM of WCAU

NBC Owned Television Stations announced today that Eric Lerner has been named president and general manager of WCAU in Philadelphia.  Lerner comes to WCAU from Seattle CBS-affiliate KIRO, where he has served as vice president and general manager for the last six years.

“Eric has a proven track record of success in strengthening stations’ news operations and driving sales performance,” said Valari Staab, president of NBC Owned Television Stations, announcing the hiring.  “His nearly 30 years of broadcast experience will be critical in taking NBC 10 to the next level, and I am pleased to welcome him to our team.”

Lerner has a background in news.  He worked as news director at WLS in Chicago from 1998 to 2001, KING in Seattle from 1995 to 1998, and KWCH in Wichita from 1992 to 1995.

Prior to KIRO, he was the president and general manager of KFSN in Fresno.

“I am thrilled to be joining the NBC 10 team in Philadelphia.  It is an exciting opportunity,” Lerner said.  “I can’t wait to build on the success at WCAU.”
