Russ Ptacek is leaving KSHB, the NBC-affiliate in Kansas City, to join WUSA, the CBS-affiliate in Washington, DC.

Ptacek has been an investigative reporter at KSHB for five years. His first day at WUSA will be February 27.

“This is the job of a lifetime and I couldn’t turn it down,” Ptacek told Bottom Line Communications. “I’ll be helping WUSA build a new investigative unit. They already have great people in place and we’re in the middle of hiring other key players.”
