KUTV’s Morning Team Locked in a ‘Facebook Faceoff’
The morning news team at Salt Lake City’s KUTV has devised an interesting way to gain fans on Facebook: this week they started a “Facebook Faceoff” in which anchors Ron Bird and Mary Nickles, reporters Kelly Chapman and Casey Scott, and meteorologist Debbie Worthen are pitted against one another in a race to garner the most Likes.
KUTV has been promoting the competition on the Facebook page of “2News This Morning” and has posted quirky videos (Bird’s is above) in which each person lobbies for a thumbs-up on Facebook.
So far, Worthen, whose Faceoff campaign is built on the universal likability of her bangs, is in the lead with a little over 4,800 Likes.
