“You can’t watch sports on a larger screen [than the ballpark],” he added. “Everybody wants to see it on an 80-inch screen. News you can get on your phone, and it’s trending in different directions.”
KARE announced in February that Pomeranz would be leaving the station for a job with the Padres. He is set to do pre- and post-game coverage for the baseball team.
In the Star Tribune interview, Pomeranz denies being in line for Enberg’s job, as some have speculated, and also says that he’s not taking a pay cut.
“I don’t discuss my contract in the paper,” Pomeranz told Star Tribune gossip columnist C.J., “but I’m going to tell you flatly, no.”
