Mike Murri is stepping into the role of station manager at Detroit ABC-affiliate WXYZ.

In his new role, which is effective immediately, Murri will oversee all the day-to-day operations of the station. He joined WXYZ as account executive in 1983 and became local sales manager in 1996. Since 2001, he has been the station’s director of sales.

“Mike has tremendous knowledge of the Detroit market and a history of success with the organization,” WXYZ VP-GM Ed Fernandez said in a statement.  “More importantly, the passion and dedication he brings to his work makes him the ideal candidate to assume this role.”
