Milwaukee Stations Hit with ‘Perfect Storm’ of Super Bowl and Snow

Milwaukee stations have been faced with a unique problem: while they have focused much of their resources on covering the lead-up to the Green Bay Packers playing in this weekend’s Super Bowl, a serious storm has hit the area.

This week, Milwaukee viewers have been offered “a perfect storm of sports and weather coverage,” points out Duane Dudek of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“We are covering two stories that take a sizable amount of manpower,” WISN news director Lori Waldon told Dudek. And having a significant number of staffers in Dallas for the Super Bowl has made local weather coverage “extra-challenging.”

Complicating matters even more is the fact that the Dallas area has been experiencing Milwaukee-esque winter weather.

“There’s no complaining about the weather when you’re in Dallas for a Packer Super Bowl,” said WDJT sports reporter Evan Fitzgerald, putting things in perspective.
