Milwaukee’s WISN is set to expand its weekday evening newscast to one hour. The ABC-affiliate will launch its new hour-long 10 p.m. newscast on January 24th.
WISN, which has been running a 1-hour evening newscast on Sunday, is energized by strong sweeps ratings for its weekday 10 p.m. newscast. “Our November numbers are evidence the people of southeastern Wisconsin want additional coverage from the news team,” said Jan Wade, president and general manager of WISN.
“By expanding our 10 p.m. newscast to an hour, we can devote even more time to in-depth and enterprise reporting,” said news director Lori Waldon. “We can dig deeper behind the headlines to produce the kinds of meaningful stories that are important to our viewers.”
The expanded newscast will be followed by “Nightline” at 11 p.m.
