Morning Anchor Chris Burrous Transfers from New York to Los Angeles

Anchor Chris Burrous, who joined New York’s WPIX just last June, is switching coasts and joining KTLA.

WPIX hired Burrous last year to be the face of its revamped morning newscast. Just a handful of months after joining the “PIX Morning News” anchor desk, he announced to viewers last week that he would be leaving.

Family is the main motivation for the move, which is a transfer from one Tribune-owned CW-affiliate to another. He told the Daily News that he wanted his daughter to be able to grow up near her grandparents, who live in California.

“There was a great opportunity at the station which would allow us to live just 2 miles away from family, so I asked to transfer,” he explained. “They were very gracious and allowed me to make the move.”
