For the third year straight, NBC Universal will award grants to non-profits in the ten markets where NBC owns local stations. 30 grants will be awarded, totaling $1.2 million.
The 21st Century Grant Challenge, a partnership between the NBC Universal Foundation and the NBC Owned Stations, will be open to nonprofits in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas-Ft. Worth, San Francisco Bay Area, Washington, D.C., Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, San Diego and Connecticut. Organizations have through August 8 to apply.
“Serving the people in our communities is at the heart of what we do and we are committed to partnering again with forward looking non-profits to make a positive local impact,” NBC Owned Stations president Valari Staab said in a statement. “21st Century Solutions is our way of supporting the most innovative and impactful local programs and helping them provide even greater services.”
