Orlando radio reporter Jonathan Beaton makes his last appearances on all-news station WDBO today. Monday, he starts as a television reporter at West Palm Beach CBS affiliate WPEC. The Orlando Sentinel reports Beaton had a rapid rise in Central Florida:
Beaton began as an intern at WDBO in 2011 and later joined the news team full time. He covered the George Zimmerman trial, and his reporting was featured on ABC News Radio and CNN Headline News.
He also reported on the Casey Anthony bankruptcy proceedings, the disappearance of Michelle Parker and the Allied Vets scandal. He is respected around town for a very professional style.
“Orlando’s been very good to me,” Beaton said. “I love the people and the diversity the town offers. I’ll especially miss living in Thornton Park, jogging around Lake Eola and spending time on Central Florida’s beautiful golf courses.”
