Ric Harris has been named vice president of sales at WVIT, the NBC O&O in Hartford-New Haven.

Harris begins his new job on March 4. He is a former VP-GM and general sales manager of WEWS, the ABC affiliate in Cleveland. Most recently, Harris worked at Accenture, where he has been manager of communications, media and technology for the past two years.

“We are thrilled to welcome someone of Ric Harris’s caliber to our NBC Connecticut team and know he will be a great fit,” president and general manager David Doebler said in a statement. “Ric brings a wealth of experience and relationships to his new role that will enable him to hit the ground running, which is critically important with major events like the 2014 Olympic Games less than a year away.”
