Sacramento Station Catches NFL Style Takedown of Escaping Suspect on Camera

A photojournalist for Sacramento CBS owned station KOVR captured a police takedown former NFL coach and commentator John Madden might describe with a “BOOM!”

When a suspect tried to escape from Sacramento police on a bike, he was tackled by a police officer right in front of a KOVR photojournalist James Taylor.

The suspect, Michael Kennedy, allegedly ran from a police officer at nearby light rail station, hopped a fence and and grabbed a bike to make his getaway.

According to KOVR, the cop who made the flying tackle suffered a wound to his face while Kennedy was booked for outstanding warrants, fleeing from police, burglary and felony assault on a police officer. Check out the raw footage after the jump.
