KCRA announced Claire Doan will join its news team as a reporter on the first Monday in December.  Doan comes to the Sacramento NBC affiliate from Tucson’s ABC affiliate,  KGUN.

Doan, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, said in a statement, “I am excited about returning to Northern California to join the KCRA family and work with an amazing team of journalists who set the bar high as the market news leader.”

Doan is the recipient of an Emmy award for her reporting as well as a regional Edward R. Murrow award for her coverage of Jared Lee Loughner, who killed six people and injured 14 in an attempted assassination of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords.

“We are excited to have Claire on board here at KCRA,” said Lori Waldon, KCRA 3 news director.  “She is a strong, passionate reporter who likes to dig for compelling stories. Claire is a great addition to our excellent team of reporters.”
