South Florida Anchors Join in Holiday Fun

The South Florida Sun Sentinel recruited celebrities including local news anchors from around South Florida to read “Twas The Night Before Christmas” in a video mash-up.

Included in on the holiday fun were Adam Kuperstein and Jackie Nespral from NBC owned WTVJ, Laurie Jennings and Calvin Hughes from Miami ABC affiliate WPLG, Belkys Nerey and Craig Stevens from Miami FOX affiliate WSVN along with John Discepolo and Liz Quirantes from CBS affiliate WPEC in West Palm Beach.

The video also featured players from the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the NBA’s Miami Heat and even fight promoter Don King. Watch the video after the jump. Read more

WTVJ Hires Keith Jones as Morning Co-Anchor

Keith Jones will be the new morning co-anchor at WTVJ in Miami, the NBC O&O announced today.

Jones joins WTVJ from WTSP in Tampa, where he has anchored the morning and noon newscasts for the past three years. He replaces Adam Kuperstein, who recently moved from mornings to evenings at WTVJ.

“Keith’s strong reporting and anchoring background will make him a valuable addition to NBC 6 News,” WTVJ president and general manager Manuel Martinez said in a statement. “We’re excited to have our morning team in place.” Read more

WTVJ Promotes Sports Reporter to Main Anchor

WTVJ announced today that Adam Kuperstein will join Jackie Nespral as anchor of the NBC station’s 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Kuperstein, who has been with WTVJ since 2005, has transitioned to the news desk over the last several months while serving as the station’s weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter.  For the past six years, he has also co-hosted WTVJ’s Sunday night sports show.

“This is an incredible honor for me,” Kuperstein said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to come into our viewers’ homes in this new role and look forward to informing and serving the South Florida community for many years.” Read more

Adam Kuperstein Named Morning Anchor At WTVJ

Adam Kuperstein, a sports anchor and reporter at WTVJ in Miami, has been promoted to weekday morning anchor at the NBC O&O.

Kuperstein announced the move on Twitter, writing, “can’t wait to join the best & most fun morning crew in town!” He will co-anchor with Pam Giganti, who has anchored the newscast solo since Bob Mayer retired last year.

Since joining WTVJ in 2005, Kuperstein has been a weekday sports reporter and weekend sports anchor. Before moving to Miami, he was the weekend sports anchor at WUPW in Toledo and WHIZ in Zanesville, OH.

Anne Craig joins WTNH in New Haven, CT as weekend anchor and reporter, from reporter at WNYW in New York.

Lucy Noland joins KNBC in Los Angeles, anchoring the station’s midday and 5 p.m. newscasts during the week.

Ken Barlow becomes a weeknight meteorologist at KSTP in Minneapolis-St. Paul, from KXTV in Sacramento.

Chita Johnson joins KHOU in Houston as the 4 p.m. weeknight meteorologist from morning meteorologist at KRCR in Redding, CA. Read more
