Alice Barr Joins KHOU From KCTV

alice barrAfter two years at KCTV in Kansas City, Alice Barr is joining KHOU in Houston, Mike McGuff reports.

“I can’t wait to get started at KHOU,” Barr told McGuff. “I’m thrilled to be joining a team of journalists with a reputation for uncovering the big stories and telling them well. I’m also looking forward to exploring Houston and the Lone Star State. I’ll be taking recommendations for any hidden treasures to visit, as well as story ideas. I know there is so much happening in the news, and in the city, in Houston and I’m excited to dive in.”

Barr was a reporter at KCTV, the CBS affiliate in Kansas City. Before that, she worked at KGAN-KFXA in Cedar Rapids and WIFR in Rockford, Ill.

Reporter Rochelle Ritchie is joining CBS O&O WJZ in Baltimore, from WPTV in West Palm Beach, FL.

Rob Collins has been named weekend anchor at WDAF in Kansas City.  For the past several years, Collins has anchored the morning news for WCIA in Champaign, IL.

Rosa Flores is leaving her reporter post at WDSU in New Orleans to become a 4 p.m. anchor and reporter at WBRZ in Baton Rouge.

Jennifer French is moving up 100+ markets from her weekend anchor-reporter position at KTEN in Denison, TX to become a multimedia reporter at WSYX in Columbus, OH. Read more

KGAN Reports on Former News Director’s Continued Investigation into Disappearance of Local Anchor

Cedar Rapids CBS-affiliate KGAN recently reported on some renewed interest in the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit, who began her broadcasting career with the station.

Huisentruit disappeared in 1995, a short time before she was expected to arrive for work as a morning anchor for KIMT in Mason City.

“Investigators believe she was kidnapped, but they’ve never named a suspect, or found her body,” KGAN reporter Alice Barr told viewers on Thursday.  “Now some renewed interest in the case has her family and friends more dedicated than ever to finding justice for Jodi.” Read more
