KTXL Hires Alisa Becerra As Morning Anchor, And Adds Evening Newscast

KTXL has announced some programming changes going in to the new year: the Sacramento Fox-affiliate will add a 6 p.m. newscast, and has hired Alisa Becerra (pictured) to be the new morning anchor.

Becerra joins KTXL on December 5 from KSBW, the NBC-affiliate in Salinas. She replaces Ama Daetz, who left the station last month.

In January, KTXL is set to launch a 6 p.m. newscast anchored by Eric Harryman, the Sacramento Business-Journal reports. The station will compete in the early-evening timeslot with NBC-affiliate KCRA, CBS O&O KOVR and ABC-affiliate KXTV.

On the Move, 11/9/11

Amanda Grace has been promoted to anchor of WHDH’s weeknight 4, 4:30, and 5 p.m. newscasts.  Grace joined the Sunbeam-owned station in 2008 as a general assignment reporter.

Chris Flanagan heads to Cleveland to anchor WEWS’s 11 p.m. weeknight newscasts.  Flanagan joins WEWS from WFAA in Dallas, where he worked as a morning anchor.

Alicia Roberts joins Cleveland’s WEWS as the morning traffic anchor and MMJ.  Roberts spent five years in a similar capacity at WFLA in Tampa.

Ama Daetz moves home to the Bay Area to anchor weekends for KGO in San Francisco.  Most recently, Daetz anchored mornings for KTXL in Sacramento. Read more

KTXL Morning Anchor Ama Daetz: She’s Gone

KTXL morning anchor Ama Daetz is saying goodbye to the Sacramento Fox-affiliate and moving on to KGO in San Francisco, where she’ll work as an anchor-reporter.

Daetz, a Bay Area native, has spent the last three years co-anchoring KTXL’s morning show.

“This community has been so kind to me and made me feel like family. Although I’m beginning a new adventure, I’ll never forget the one I shared with everyone here in Sacramento,” Daetz said.

On her Facebook page this morning, Daetz wrote, “Holy Crap. My last day. I hereby declare my last Hall & Oates Dance Party Friday!” Well, Ama, this one goes out to you… Read more
