Lewis joined WNYW in 2010 as a general assignment reporter. Since January, he has anchored the station’s early morning newscast alongside Juliet Huddy. Lewis has also worked at WGN in Chicago and KTVK in Phoenix.

WNYW will rotate reporters and anchors to fill in on the early morning newscast until a new co-anchor is named.

Kelly moved to the evening newscasts, anchoring alongside Dari Alexander, in July. He was replaced on “Good Day” by Dave Price, who re-joined the station to anchor the morning show with Rosanna Scotto.

Price asked to be let out of his contract, station sources say. His last day at WNYW was Thursday.

“I had a great experience returning to FOX 5 but it is time to look for opportunities outside WNYW. I love Rosanna and the gang and wish them all the best,” Price told TVSpy in a statement.

“We appreciate all of Dave’s contributions to ‘Good Day New York’ during his time with FOX 5 and we wish him success in his future endeavors,” WNYW VP-GM Lew Leone said.

Kelly co-hosted “Good Day” with Scotto for four years before moving to the evenings.

“We are excited to welcome Greg back to ‘Good Day.’ He has proven he has the versatility to anchor a primetime newscast and an unscripted morning show – a rare and valuable quality,” Leone said. “This, combined with his fun, spontaneous, and inquisitive style make him the perfect fit for this role.”

As Kelly moves back to mornings, Steve Lacy (right) who currently anchors the 4:30 to 7 a.m. hours, will move to evenings. Lacy, who joined WNYW in 2011 from WCVB in Boston, will anchor the 10 p.m. newscast with Alexander and the 6 p.m. newscast solo.

A spokesperson for WNYW said Antwan Lewis will anchor the early-morning newscasts until Lacy’s permanent replacement is named.

WNYW reporter Antwan Lewis appeared live on Fox sister station WTXF this morning, covering the New Jersey funeral of Whitney Houston, when a car collided with another vehicle directly behind him.

At the time of the collision, Lewis was listening to a question from WTXF anchor Mike Jerrick, who apparently didn’t realize that there had been a fender bender just feet away from the reporter. A moment of shock registered on Lewis’s face but he smoothly went on with his live report without mentioning the crash. Video inside… continued…

“We love Howard Stern too but, come on, we have serious stuff going on here,” WNYW morning anchor Greg Kelly said after some guy ruined a live shot from reporter Antwan Lewis, who was covering the aftermath of the NYPD’s Zuccotti Park raid Tuesday morning (video above).

While reporting in lower Manhattan, Lewis was repeatedly interrupted by a guy yelling “Howard Stern’s penis.”  Lewis tried to ignore the man and continue but WNYW eventually conceded defeat, cutting back to the studio.
