Veteran Seattle Anchor Brad Goode Joins KOMO

Remaking its anchor lineup, KOMO has hired Brad Goode, who left crosstown rival KING back in June, to co-anchor its morning newscast alongside Peggy Bunker.

Goode spent six years anchoring KING’s a.m. newscast but left the NBC-affiliate this summer after he was reportedly unable to agree on the terms of a new contract with station management.  Since leaving KING, Goode has been reporting for CNBC, where he worked earlier in his career.

In addition to introducing a new morning anchor team, KOMO promoted Molly Shen, who currently anchors the morning show, to the 5 p.m. newscast, where she’ll join Eric Johnson. Read more

Former KING Anchor Brad Goode Joins CNBC, Again

Brad Goode, who left KING in June after six years with the Seattle NBC affiliate, has a new gig at his old place of employment: CNBC.

TVNewser reports that Goode, who worked for CNBC for three years prior to joining KING, is back to work full-time at CNBC’s LA bureau. He appeared on Monday’s “Kudlow Report,” where anchor Larry Kudlow introduced him by saying, “A familiar face to CNBC has come back home.”

Goode, who was a morning anchor at KING, will report on west coast companies for CNBC. He is a local television veteran, with stints at stations in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Toledo and Lansing.

Brad Goode Leaving KING 5

Brad Goode is leaving the morning grind at KING 5 News in Seattle, where he’s spent the last six years.

“I have had an incredible run here at KING-TV,” said Goode in a KING5.com story. “I know the type of newscasts we worked hard to produce everyday were as good as any in the country.”

Goode joined KING from CNBC, where he was a daytime anchor. Before CNBC, Goode was anchor at the syndicated “EXTRA,” he was also an anchor/reporter at KCBS in LA, KIRO-TV in Seattle, WCCO in Minneapolis, KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, WDHO-TV in Toledo, and WILX-TV in Lansing.

TVSpy hears Goode and stations management couldn’t come to an agreement on a new deal. Goode plans to start up Goode News Media. His final show at KING5 is August 5.

Don’t Report and Drive: KING Crew Drives the Wrong Way on a One-Way

Reporting on dangerous driving conditions in the wake of a snowstorm, a KING news crew did some dangerous driving of their own.

As reporter Natalie Swaby spoke live with morning anchor Brad Goode from inside a moving car, a KING camera inside the vehicle clearly shows “Do Not Enter” signs passing by outside.
