A woman claiming to be Jay-Z‘s sister crashed a WNBC live shot outside New York City’s Penn Station (video above).

Checkey Beckford, a reporter for the NBC O&O, had just started her stand up when the woman came up behind her and tried to get in front of the camera. “I’m Jay-Z’s sister! He was looking for me on the subway!” she said.

“Excuse us for a second. We’re having some interference,” Beckford said. WNBC went to her taped report immediately. [h/t Gawker]

KOVR reporter Checkey Beckford and photojournalist Dennis Marin were at the center of a news story that has swept across the country this week–so close that they felt the sting of pepper spray.

Beckford and Marin were positioned right behind a row of seated UC Davis students as a police officer in riot gear methodically dusted them with an orange stream of pepper spray last Friday afternoon.
