WJLA

WJLA has announced a new and improved ABC7 On-Your-Side investigative unit. According to TVNewsCheck, the Washington ABC affiliate’s new unit, led by current WJLA assistant news director Holly Shannon, will focus on consumer problems and government waste.

“ABC7 has had a long history in this market of watching out for the little guy,” news director Mitch Jacob said in a statement. “Our new investigative team will take this kind of reporting to the next level. We’ll be there for our viewers on matters that are important to them.”

Other reporters on the new team include: Joce StermanChris PapstKimberly SuitersHorace Holmes and Jennifer Donelan.

“This is a big undertaking,” Jacob added. “But DC and our viewers deserve this type of reporting. We’re going to dig deep into the issues that impact the DC region.”

I don’t know if I have had so many cuts and bruises or endured anything like happened last night.”

Clyatt said he was finishing up a long run after work Sunday morning when he was approached by a group of five young men and one woman who initially passed him then doubled back. Clyatt said the woman then hit him with a very heavy purse he said may have had a brick inside. Read more
