Meteorologist Jason Adams Joining WCPO

Meteorologist Jason Adams is heading to Cincinnati ABC affiliate WCPO, where he’ll join co-anchors Chris RivaKathrine Nero and traffic reporter Adam Marshall on ”Good Morning Tri-State,” airing weekend mornings.

“Jason is a great addition to an already strong weather team,” said Alex Bongiorno, WCPO news director. “Our viewers rely on 9 First Warning Weather for accurate, breaking weather information. Jason is a great fit for the Tri-State.”

Adams comes from NBC affiliate WEYI in Flint, Mich., where he was morning meteorologist for the past two years.

His first day at WCPO is December 20.

Chris Riva moves to his native Cincinnati as he joins WCPO as the morning anchor. Previously, he worked at KCRA in Sacramento.

Janet Kim has joined KING in Seattle as a reporter. She comes from WTVF in Nashville, where she served in the same role.

Elsa Gillis has joined KTBS in Shreveport as an anchor and investigative reporter. She comes from WUTR-WFXV in Utica, N.Y.

Femi Redwood moves to Fios 1 in New York City as a reporter. Previously, she worked at Ebru News. Read more

Chris Riva Joins WCPO as Morning Anchor

Chris Riva _wcpoCincinnati ABC affiliate WCPO announced the addition of Chris Riva as co-anchor of “Good Morning Tri-State.”

“We conducted a national search for the right person, and Chris was the perfect fit for the team,” Jeff Brogan, WCPO VP and GM said in a statement. “He was born and raised here and understands the significance of this in telling a community story.”

Riva comes to WCPO from KCRA in Sacramento, CA. He has also worked in Denver, Green Bay, WI, and Dayton, OH.

He begins co-anchoring with Kathrine Nero on April 21.
