Anderson, who replaces Chris Tye and Erin Kennedy, told his followers on facebook Saturday night, “Hi Everyone, tonight is my last show on the weekend working with Lynna Lai. Starting Monday, I’m going back to the morning show.”

“For right now, John Anderson and Hollie Strano will be co-hosting the morning show, and, obviously, neither is a stranger to that beat,” Brooke Spectorsky, president and general manager of the Cleveland NBC affiliate told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. “Going forward, that doesn’t mean it will be permanent. There will be at least one more person added.”

According to the Plain-Dealer WKYC’s 4:30 a.m. show has been trailing morning ratings leader FOX affiliate WJW.

Anderson returned to WKYC in October 2012. He anchored the morning show between 2000 and 2007 before leaving to work at WTXF in Philadelphia.

Preparing to Anchor WKYC’s 7 p.m. Newscast, Robin Swoboda Says ‘Things Have Gone Full Circle’

Robin Swoboda, who has been a familiar face to viewers in northeastern Ohio for the better part of two decades, is set to begin a new phase in her career as co-anchor of WKYC‘s 7 p.m. newscast.

Swoboda will make her WKYC debut, alongside Chris Tye (right), on Monday.

For Swoboda, who hosted a daytime lifestyle show on rival station WJW for the past four years, the move represents a return to where she began her TV career in Cleveland: as an anchor and reporter for the evening news.

“It does feel like things have gone full circle,” Swoboda told The Plain Dealer recently. “When I started out, I knew I wanted to be an anchor-reporter. I branched out and tried this and tried that… but my first love is news. And at this stage of my career, this is it.” Read more
