Christopher Sign Promoted to Weekday Morning Anchor at KNXV

KNXV weekend anchor Christopher Sign has been promoted to weekday morning anchor by the Phoenix ABC affiliate.

Anita Helt, KNXV VP & GM, tweeted out the news over the weekend.

KNXV morning meteorologist Iris Hermosillo wrote on her facebook page, “I’ve been lucky enough to build a genuine friendship with this guy over the past year and a half as we helped develop ABC15 Weekend Mornings. Now I’m beyond thrilled that we’ll get to continue working together each day as Christopher Sign ABC 15 also joins the ABC15 Morning crew M-F.” Read more

Jo Ling Kent joins Fox Business Network as a New York-based anchor and correspondent. Kent previously was a reporter at WVIT in Hartford-New Haven.

Andy Scholes has been named an anchor and correspondent for CNN Sports and the “Bleacher Report” anchor on “New Day.” He comes from KDAF in Dallas, where he was a sports anchor and reporter.

Gary Striewski, a sports reporter at KPRC in Houston, joins NESN in Boston as a feature reporter and sports anchor. Read more

KNXV To Launch Weekend Morning News

KNXV, the ABC affiliate for Phoenix, has announced it will add a weekend morning newscast beginning next Saturday, January 19.

The station will move “Good Morning America Weekend” to 7 a.m., with the new local news airing from 5 to 7 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday will include an extra hour of  local news from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. following GMA.

Christopher Sign and meteorologist Iris Hermosillo, who came to the station in November, will anchor the weekend newscasts.
