KSNV is welcoming Mark Neerman to its Las Vegas newsroom as news director. Neerman is replacing Craig Hume, who joined the station in 2013 from CBS affiliate WHP-WLYH in Harrisburg, Pa. Hume announced his departure from the NBC affiliate a few weeks ago, and explained to his staff that he would be moving back to his home in Los Angeles.

Neerman, who previously worked at Louisville, KY, ABC affiliate WHAS as news director, talked to FTVLive about what he’s been up to since then:

“I left WHAS to launch the start-up indarramedia.com. To the surprise of no one who knows me, I missed news. I couldn’t have been more impressed with Sinclair’s plans for the future.”

KSNV was recently bought by Sinclair for $120 million. This isn’t Neerman’s first time working in Sin City; he was previously news director at FOX affiliate KVVU.

Las Vegas News Director Leaving

ksnvCraig Hume has announced he is leaving Las Vegas NBC affiliate KSNV.

KSNV was recently purchased by Sinclair. In an email Hume sent to staffers, he said, “After the sale was announced, I wanted to stay to ensure a smooth transition into the Sinclair family. Sinclair is bringing new direction and new resources to take the station to the next level of success.”

As FTVLive first reported, Hume’s last day will be next Wednesday November 26.

He had worked at the station since May 2013.

Craig Hume Joins KSNV as News Director

Craig Hume is joining KSNV, the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas, as news director. Hume joins the station from Harrisburg, Pa., where he has been the news director at WHP-WLYH since 2009.

“The power of News 3 is built on a reputation for excellence in journalism and deep roots in the community. I look forward to helping expand News 3′s high-quality local news coverage in new time periods,” Hume said in a statement.

Hume replaces Bob Stoldal, who will be “spending more time on his corporate responsibilities” as executive vice president of news, according to Rick Gevers & Associates. Intermoutain West Communications, KSNV’s parent company, is expanding local news programming in both Las Vegas and at KRNV in Reno, and Stoldal will oversee the expansion.

“Craig brings with him experience in developing local news operations as well as a good knowledge of Las Vegas,” Stoldal said in a statement.
