Cynthia Vega Says Goodbye to Television

Cynthia Vega, who signed off last month from WFAA in Dallas, is making a career change.

Vega has joined the public affairs department at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where she will work as manager of media relations. In a statement announcing the hire, DFW Airport vice president of public affairs Mary Jo Polidore said Vega “brings a wealth of outstanding and relevant experience to the Airport.”

Vega spent 12 years as a reporter for WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas. Prior to that, she worked at WHDH in Boston, WFTV in Orlando and KTSM in El Paso.

Reporter Cynthia Vega Leaves WFAA After 12 Years

Longtime reporter Cynthia Vega has left WFAA, the ABC-affiliate in Dallas, media blogger Ed Bark is reporting:

Several sources confirmed Vega’s departure Thursday, and her “News Team” bio already has been removed from WFAA8′s website. WFAA8 spokesman Dave Muscari so far has not returned an email asking about Vega.

Vega, who reported primarily for the morning newscast, joined the station in 2000. She was last on the air on August 17.
